Train Simulator is home to many great US Steam engines, including the FEF-3, PRR K4s, Cab-Forward, and a whole lot more. With the right freight cars and routes, we can take railroading back to the days of when Steam ruled the rails. Some of my UP steam train consists require DLC (some owned, some not owned) from the GP30, SD45 UP, Cab-Forward, Sharknose, B&O Wagon Pack, GN Wagon Pack, and the PRR Wagon Pack.
There are only 6 US Wagon Packs for the game (some mentioned above) and can add rolling stock to the GP9 Pack, HSC Route, and the GN F7 Empire Builder. Yet those are the only classic wagon packs for the game. One of my first articles proposed more wagon packs for certain RR Lines yet never focused on a specific type of freight car.
Here is Frisco’s list on 20 great classic steam-era boxcars to add to the game! Most are real train pictures, only one is a model; but the model pic is based off of the real one though.
Southern Pacific “Overnight”
Norfolk & Western
New York Central
Chicago & Northwestern
Nickel Plate Road
Hope ya’ll agree to adding these to train sim!
